
CAMHI Educational & Employer Partners
William James College has partnered with several academic institutions and community-based agencies to promote behavioral health career opportunities and educational pathways to high school and community college students. Employer partners are leading behavioral health organizations that will refer frontline staff for enrollment in the Bachelor of Science in Psychology and Human Services (BS-PHS) program, consider program graduates for employment opportunities, provide work-based learning experiences to BS-PHS students, and participate in Behavioral Health Career Fairs and Summer Institutes.
Educational Partners
- Black Man Can Institute (BMCI) – BMCI provides students from economically disadvantaged backgrounds with opportunities to make career opportunities and academic pathways seem more viable. BMCI will co-host educational workshops on mental health literacy and behavioral health careers for adolescent boys.
- Boston Public Schools (BPS) – As the region’s largest school district, BPS will promote behavioral health career opportunities and academic pathways to identified students.
- Brookline Public Schools’ Metropolitan Council for Educational Opportunity (METCO) Program – METCO is a voluntary integration program providing K-12 education for over 300 Boston students. METCO will assist in facilitating group workshops for high schoolers through its annual Young Men and Women’s Leadership Conferences.
- Bunker Hill Community College (BHCC) – BHCC offers Associate degree programs that position students for entry into William James College’s Bachelor of Science in Psychology and Human Services. It will serve as a potential host-site for the summer institutes.
- Roxbury Community College (RCC) – RCC is an Associate degree granting institution that will serve as a pipeline for the Bachelor of Science in Psychology and Human Services program and a potential host-site for the summer institute.
Employer & Community-Based Partners
- Association for Behavioral Healthcare (ABH) – ABH is a statewide association representing over eighty community-based mental health and addiction treatment provider organizations in Massachusetts.
- Eliot Community Human Services (ECHS) – ECHS is a human service agency that provides an integrated and comprehensive network of community-based services to more than 30,000 individuals and families throughout Massachusetts.
- Justice Resource Institute (JRI) – JRI is a behavioral health provider that offers over 100 diverse programs meeting the needs of underserved individuals and families.
- Massachusetts Department of Mental Health (DMH) – DMH focuses on the mental and behavioral health of Massachusetts’ constituents with unparalleled reach throughout the state.
Get Involved!
- Become an academic or employer partner.
- Join the Community Advisory Group (CAG).
- The primary aims of the CAG are to foster on-going collaborations with the community, integrate the voices and experiences of the population served, and provide guidance to the project staff on culturally responsive approaches and best practices to engage with the larger community. Members of the CAG include youth and families from historically marginalized communities, students, school and community college personnel, behavioral health providers, and other stakeholders with expertise in serving children, adolescents, and families. The advisory group will meet approximately 3-4 times annually.
