ORG OL606 - The Brain in Business: Neuroscience of Leadership
The neuroscience of human systems and leadership is a growing subdiscipline in the field of organization psychology. Through an understanding of the hard science of how the individual’s brain responds to authority relationships within work contexts, students will examine relational leadership behaviors that promote organizational effectiveness. Students will gain insight into how leaders can create trust and psychological safety among their followers to better manage constant change. Emphasis will be placed on the neurological impact of perceived threats and rewards in relation to learning, performance, change, and innovation capacities. This course will teach students to apply concepts from brain science to understand human behavior and what it takes to lead highly performing teams and organizations.
